The Multidrop 384 automates dispensing into microplates, it is programmable, eight-channel microplate dispenser, designed for high throughput screening and microvolume dispensing. It has a peristaltic pump for rapid and continuous dispensing of liquids into 96 and 384-well microplates. It can dispense 1 to 8 different reagents from external liquid reservoirs into different rows and can be used in most microtitration techniques, for example, in the fields of bacteriology, cell biology, hematology, immunology, toxicology and virology. It is particularly useful in the pharmaceutical industry. The Multidrop 384 is lightweight, transportable and compact on a laboratory bench. It can dispense 20 µl into the entire 384-well microplate in 20 seconds or 20 µl into the entire 96-well microplate in 5 seconds.
The dispenser easily switches from 96-well to 384-well plates and dispenses up to eight different liquids simultaneously using the 8-channel detachable and autoclavable dispensing cassette. Dispensing a total of 20µL per plate takes five seconds for a 96-well plate and less than 20 seconds for a 384-well plate. Any number of columns can be selected, from 1–24 for 384-well plates and from 1–12 for 96-well plates.
The dispensing cassette contains eight individual tubes. The dispensing cassette is detachable. Each reagent can have a separate dispensing cassette. Alternatively, the same dispensing cassette can be used with several reagents.
Although designed as a stand-alone instrument, the dispenser can also be integrated with robotic plate handling devices via the RS-232 serial port for greater flexibility and higher throughput
Technical Details
Our engineer tested the microplate. The unit turns on and starts to work but it stops, see video. The unit has small spots but in general, it is good cosmetic condition
